How do I get to services through ICEC?
If your child is under 12 months of age please call our Santa Ana center directly at 714-434-4773 and tell us about your child. Our center based group infant program is funded by the Assistance League of Laguna Beach and does not need any referral but there is typically a long waiting list. We can usually begin privately paid services or schedule an assessment at either our Santa Ana or Irvine center within 2 weeks of your call.

At any time your child can be referred by the Regional Centers of Orange County, Inland County or Harbor County, your local school district, your physician, or you can come and receive an assessment and other services without any referral at all. Regional Center funding will require an evaluation showing qualifying developmental delays and most insurance companies require a prescription in order to pay for services.

Why are you parent participation?
ICEC is a family centered, parent participation program. Early intervention services must include family participation. Parental involvement in any program is crucial for success, and early intervention is most effective when the families of children are fully involved. Parents are encouraged to target goals for their child, learn about their legal rights and responsibilities and exchange information with providers and about the significance of your input in the IFSP and IEP processes. Parents are an integral part of the process as so much of learning happens at home. In addition, siblings are included as they are part of the respite care and also of the day to day learning through play experience of their brother or sister. In addition, parents are considered to be respected members of the team and believed to be their child's best advocate.

What happens when my child turns three?
We have several group programs, each are designed to work with children at different ages and stages in their development through age 6. If your child still requires group infant stimulation or therapy past age three we work with Regional Center to help with the transition to your local school district or you can continue services with ICEC by paying privately. We provide transition workshops on a quarterly basis. And if your child’s needs are medically rather than educationally based you may qualify with a prescription for payment from your insurance company.
